RETURN TO NATURE

The David Lawrence HW21 collection calls us back to nature through luxury fabrications, colours and textures inspired by the winter garden. The David Lawrence woman is drawn to the outdoors with a desire to be present in her surroundings, to feel grounded and live simply.

The collection centres on a lush locale long-frequented by the Plein Air impressionists; where the exquisite winter light passes through the day slowly and freely, shining copper and gold, and creating every kind of painterly blue. The mist lifts on water-colour mornings and the soft sun break through roaming clouds.

David Lawrence HW21 takes on quiet confidence as we take a journey of the senses through a fragrant garden, wrapped in woollen outerwear, barefoot or booted. Communicating liberation through luxury, the collection explores the opposing forces of a well-loved garden; free and refined, wild and elegant.

Coats, trenches and jackets form the pillars of the winter wardrobe, a decadent offering in refreshed felted-wool silhouettes, Italian wool-blend twills and the supple worn-in grain of nappa leather. Textured-weave coatings and puffer silhouettes add an elemental feel for long walks and wandering.

The season hones visual depth and vibrancy in layering, with abstract florals on silk designed to be worn beneath plush quilted jackets or long coats in camel, cobalt and cinnamon. The collection introduces the new a-line silhouette of the soft midi skirts - in printed or plain iterations, worn easily with 100% merino wool knits, pure silk shirtings in tonal combinations.

Knitwear finds a forever home in the vast, scenic detours and rolling hills of green in the great outdoors, elevating luxurious texture in timeless cable-knits, figure-flattering ribs, luscious roll-necks and simple cardigans in merino and cashmere yarns.

European stretch wool tailoring provides weekday elegance, shifted easily to weekend escapades by simply switching shirts for pullovers, tailored pants for long skirts, and blazers for puffer jackets.

The Weekend Collection centres on conscious dressing. Thoughtful silhouettes for practicality considered fabrics for the sustainable, sartorial dresser, and mood-enhancing colours for peace of mind when truly off-duty.

Outerwear and layering pieces drive the range, designed for out-of-office relaxation and reflection. A fresh palette meets new seasonal items to build off the Weekend wearer’s existing wardrobe.

Thoughtful design is explored in sporty quilted recycled nylon bomber jackets, for a modern sportier take on outerwear. For the city dwellers making moves to weekend coastal locations and long, scenic drives, the season introduces a range of life-long leather jackets, perfectly fitted to accompany the latest denim fits. Tactile fabrications find a new home in the velvety corduroy cropped jean, and effortless pull-on jersey skirt and the washed cotton jogger, where comfort meets craftsmanship.

Cashmere, baby wool and merino knits satisfy the cravings of the comfort-inclined and are easily slipped over jersey essentials. Elevate downtime, and return to simplicity with Weekend this winter.
